The Wall Rack - Painted.
Details
The wall rack is a compilation of the design features of several of our other wall boxes and offers other contemporary uses. This beautifully decorative wall shelf will help you organize and will grace any space it occupies.
Running Horse.
The Running Horse design (date unknown) was found in a book of early New England Pine Furnishings and struck us as a graceful and delicate example. We have chosen to offer it in tiger maple.
Horse and Rider.
This weather vane was dated at 1860 and has a wonderful folk art appearance. WE have reproduced our version in tiger maple with a touch of paint, in keeping with the "folksy" nature of the original.
Butcher's Vane.
This is one of the most unusual weather vanes we've come across. I was originally found atop a butcher's shop, supposedly to direct the illiterate farmer to his establishment. We assume the well~dressed farmer behind the pig was to show respect. We have tracked the only known original to the Glouster Maritime Museum.
Rooster Vanes.
In the ninth century, the Pope decreed that every church show a cock on its steeple as a reminder to the faithful that the cock would not crow the morning after the Last Supper until Christ's disciple Peter had denounced Him. Since that time, the rooster has been a common fixture atop churches and barns in Europe and America.
